In dance, students will learn concepts of various styles of dance. The curriculum also includes correctly warming up the body, anatomy, performance quality, and choreography skills. Students will use different roles in class to enhance their learning. The students will take on the roles of an interpreter, collaborator, and improviser. As an interpreter, the student takes what is taught and adds their own individual essence. As a collaborator, the student works with others in the class to work together as a community. As an improviser, the student learns to make decisions in regards to their individual body and personal views.
Dance I/Dance Wellness I: (open to all grade levels) Year long course with a focus on the Elements of Dance, Jazz, Ballet, World, Hip Hop, and Contemporary/Modern dance. Students will learn skills and techniques to begin their dance education as well as dance history, vocabulary, and theory. Students will be given the opportunity to participate in a Fall and/or Spring performance.
*Can use class for either PE credit or Fine Arts credit.
Dance II/Dance Wellness II: (open to all grade levels - teacher approval required) Year long course with a focus on Jazz, Ballet, Tap, Hip Hop, and Contemporary/Modern dance. Students will be given the opportunity to participate in a Fall and/or Spring performance.

Mustang Dance Company will have various performances throughout the school year in addition to a Spring Concert.
